Author's bio text
Carolina Bianchi is a writer, director and performer, born in Porto Alegre, Brazil, and based in Europe since 2020. Her work explores sexual violence and art history from a perspective of crisis, drawing on references from literature, painting and performance. She is the director of the São Paulo-based collective CARA DE CAVALO, with whom she created the trilogy Cadela Força: A Noiva e o Boa Noite Cinderela (2023), The Brotherhood (2025) and Uma Luz Cordial (2026). Her previous works include O Tremor Magnífico (2020), LOBO (2018) and Mata-me de Prazer (2016). Her productions have been staged at major festivals and theatres across Europe, the United States and Australia. In 2025, she was awarded the Silver Lion at the Venice Dance Biennale. A Noiva e o Boa Noite Cinderela was named Best International Premiere of the 2023/24 season in France by the Prix du Syndicat de la Critique, and the texts of the trilogy, as well as O Tremor Magnífico, were published in French by Les Solitaires Intempestifs.
